I get the point of this, but at the same time, this really isn’t the way a mind suffering from depression works. When you’re depressed there is no next year. You can’t rationalize your problems like this. You can’t say, “in a year from now, this will just be a bad memory”. You can’t think that you will ever be happy enough to even think about doing any of these things. A depressed mind doesn’t think it will ever get better or that the world around them will ever change. It’s kind of alienating to rationalize the acts of a depressed and suicidal individual like this. Depression isn’t synonymous with sadness.
